The Child Life Assistant will help plan play and activity program with consultation from child life staff based on psychosocial and developmental need of patients. Have the ability to comprehend and transmit detailed instructions and information related to patient treatment. Have the ability to provide constant supervision to patients and families, determining their needs, monitoring their behavior and providing the necessary support up to eighty percent of work day. Some documentation and written communication skills, usually acquired through three to six months on-the-job training. Effective verbal communication skills. Basic supervisory skills used to direct volunteers. Multi-cultural skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff. Time management and organizational skills.
