We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant with cooking experience in the Healthcare Industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Adheres to proper food handling, including daily checks of covid 19 sheets, fridge & freezer temperature sheets, food samples to be taken daily as well as sanitation, and safety procedures; maintains temperature and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) sheets as required; and maintains appropriate dating, labelling, and rotation of all food items.
- Properly cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene.
- Washing and appropriately storing all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes.
- Assisting the Cook with the preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, poultry, and meat.
- Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floors as well as wiping down kitchen walls.
- Assisting with the unloading of delivered food supplies.
- Organizing and correctly storing food supplies.
- Promptly transferring meal ingredients from storage areas to the kitchen as per the Cook's instructions.
- Stirring and heating soups and sauces as well as preparing hot beverages.
· CLEANING:
- Ensuring the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic
- Washing utensils and dishes and making sure they are stored appropriately
- Disposing of rubbish, Sweeping, and mopping the kitchen floors as well as wiping down kitchen walls.
- Cleaning the food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas
- Assisting the cook/senior staff when necessary.
- Properly cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene.
- Washing and appropriately storing all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes.
- Assisting the Cook with the preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, poultry, and meat.
· FOOD PREPERATION & STOCK
- Assisting with the unloading of delivered food supplies.
- Organizing and correctly storing food supplies.
- Promptly transferring meal ingredients from storage areas to the kitchen as per the Cook's instructions.
- Sorting, storing, and distributing ingredients
- Stirring and heating soups and sauces as well as preparing hot beverages.
- Washing, peeling, chopping, cutting, and cooking foodstuffs and helping to prepare salads and desserts.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: R3,826.00 per month
