The role sits within LGC Assure digital team and will support delivery of Business Unit -wide digital platforms and initiatives. The main focus is taking responsibility for gathering and documenting business requirements for Safefood 360°, customer facing bespoke web application, fully developed in-house.
Safefood 360° is a food safety management software for industry leading food businesses (Manufacturers, Retailers, Brand Owners). The candidate will work in close collaboration with Agile development team as well as product owner and diverse external corporate clients, bridging the gap between the two. It thus requires the ability to communicate effectively with users of different level of technical expertise as well as writing precise and accurate requirements.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of Safefood 360° and its fit into wider Digital portfolio.
- Writes user stories and solution requirements (where appropriate), participates in daily stand-ups and supports Agile team members with their work where required.
- Discovers and analyses requirements for fitness for purpose as well as adherence to business objectives and consistency, challenging positively as appropriate. Documents requirements using appropriate methodologies and ensure traceability to source.
- Assists product owner to prioritise and manage product backlog, using Agile practices for prioritisation around business value.
- Collaborates with stakeholders at all levels, in the conduct of investigations for business requirements specifications and feasibility studies. Works with stakeholders (product owner, corporate clients) to prioritise requirements and resolve conflicts.
- Documents acceptance criteria and ensures that products meet the required quality level prior to production release.
- Knowledge of modern software development methodologies (Agile).
- An understanding of modern API driven web applications.
- Extensive experience with requirements gathering and documenting.
- Ability to create process flow diagrams using appropriate tools (eg. Visio).
- Experience producing wireframes and designs using tools like Figma.
- Understanding of data modelling techniques and their application to software solution design.
- Ability to write simple SQL queries to extract data for analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- A degree or equivalent qualification.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a Business Analysis role.
- Good stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Willing and able to learn new skills rapidly and work outside of primary competency areas.
